yeah but still it was one of the greatest matches in wwe history. That's exactly how wcw should have booked this match. Not having Goldberg squash one the the greatest wrestlers in the history of their company.

this match was a little bit over 3 min long.
 Way to build Sting into the new Ric Flair, to take 11 years to mold and craft him into the flagship of WcW only to have someone who can't even sell a kick without breaking someones jaw beat him in less time than it took for him to walk to the ring. Side note, way to confuse the fan by saying
it's non-title and then giveing Bill the strap. Compeling stuff. Russo strikes again.

I dunno, more recently I enjoyed the Shawn Michaels versus John Cena match on Raw; which lasted about an hour if I'm not mistaken. I could name some others that could content with the ones you've listed, but I'd have to refresh my memory. I've always been fond of the Rock and Austin battles especially. Biggest disappointment of all for me though had to be the Lesnar versus Goldberg match. There was so much hype for it and then barely a thing happened - I believe it even resulted in a DQ.

I think it had more to do with its popular contender,the WWE, simply selling more seats and delivering more of what people wanted. It's up for speculation, but the main reason for WCW's demise not sticking to its identity and trying to copy other styles that weren't its own. The NWO was the formidable villain with an attitude for a significant portion of the WCW's history, which probably helped it more than hurt it. There were many great talents in NWO, especially if you include the Wolf Pac.

@EternalSage07 The Goldberg vs. Lesner match result was Goldberg wining by pin fall (think cause Lesnar was on his was on his way out of the business) but yeah it was a disappointment.

Oh, my mistake. . . And ya - as cliche as it is to say - wrestling matches just aren't like they used to be. For the worse in my opinion. P.S. Afterward Lesnar went to the NFL with the Vikings and got a late cut in preseason: Apparently he'd gotten into fights and had some controversial sack on a Chief's QB - whatever that means; I didn't even know he played football. Both of them even went to MMA shows, but of course Goldberg is too old by now to contend so he was a commentator last I hear .

Seemed pretty simple Sting said the fans deserved a better World Title match and challenge anyone. Goldberg accepted and beat Sting. I hated Goldberg but what's right is right.
